SHOWER IDEAS

I am giving a shower here at my home on the 7th next month and I need some ideas. I would love to make a cake like the one above so if anyone has any experience in this area let me know how to go about this. This will be a couples shower and their first baby, she is having a little girl so I want everything really fun. Some neat games would be fun so any ideas please send them my way.

I've never been to a couples shower. As for ideas, has the couple chosen a theme for the baby's room yet?

I love the diaper cake idea!

I have hosted a zillion couples baby showers but we have never played any games. The showers were more like BBQs. My favorite thing to do normally is to have each guest write one piece of advice for the new parents and then you can bind all of them together with a cute ribbon.

Okay, seriously. I have THE BEST game for a couples shower. I hosted one and we did this game. It was hilarious!

It's a relay with the guys. On a counter, you place a baby doll, dressed in like a onesie and outfit. And diaper. Each guy must run up, undress, "change the diaper", powder and then redress the baby.

Make sure you have your video camera out. This is hilarious!

I'll get back to you with more. Watching The Bachelor and I started a "Bachelor Review", so I have to pay attention! :)

Cyndi I have been to a shower where the cake looked very similar to that but it was made completely out of perfectly beautifully iced and decorated pink cupcakes! There was a pillar made from largest to smallest in a round shape where the cupcakes were just placed in a circle for 4 tiers up. Did that just make sense to you??? Anyway if you can picture it, it really was just beautiful.

Let me know what you do , I can't wait to see pictures.

Oh yeah and then there is that game where you have a ton of clothespins and pick a work, just any word and whenever a person hears another person say the sord they take their clothespins and at the end of the day whoever has the most wins a prize that is usually a baby item and then given to the mommy to be.

Love, Kristy

At Missy's shower, they had diapers that were "soiled" with different things. Candy bars, peas, etc. The ones trying to figure it out can even taste it - it was too funny! Also, they had boxes (all wrapped) one inside the other (like 8 total) and like musical chairs, you pass the box and when the music stops, the person holding the box got to open a layer. Try to end it w/ the Mom or Dad to be and have a small baby item inside!
